10th CEEJH Environmental Justice Symposium: Environmental Justice Past, Present, and Future

September 11 , 8:00 am September 14 , 5:00 pm EDT

Environmental Justice is an ever-changing field with exciting new developments and challenges each year. This year at the 10th Environmental Justice Symposium we will remember how far the field has come and honor those who have worked to bring it to this point. We will learn about the work being done all over the world to support communities’ environmental justice. And we will recognize the challenges the future will bring and support those who are working to bring solutions to fruition.

The 10th Environmental Justice Symposium is being hosted by the Community Engagement, Environmental Justice, and Health Center at the University of Maryland, School of Public Health from Wednesday, September 11th to Saturday, September 14 and is free to the public. The first day (9/11) will be held entirely virtually, with the subsequent days being held at the College Park Marriot, 3501 University Blvd E, Hyattsville, MD as well as being available virtually. Food and beverage will be provided.

Speakers will be announced in the coming weeks. Expect a well-respected cohort of some of the most knowledgable Environmental Justice advocates, researchers, and leaders. This year’s keynote speakers include:

  • 9/12: Rev. Lennox Yearwood – CEO, Hip-Hop Caucus
  • 9/13: Vernice Miller-Travis – Executive Vice President, Metropolitan Group
