In a small study, feces collected from three newborns, six infants, and 10 adults was evaluated for the presence of microplastic particles. Scientists found that fecal samples taken from infants contained levels of microplastic that were significantly higher than the amount found in the adults’ samples. The findings suggest that infants are exposed to higher levels of microplastics than adults.
