Scientists have published a paper outlining how plastic and other forms of synthetic chemical pollution have exceeded human ability to keep track of and cope with releases of toxins that build up in the environment. These experts recommend urgent action be taken to reduce production and release of synthetic pollutants, but also note that even so, existing pollution will continue to pose a threat into the future.
