For the whole of his career, Bridges has been an advocate for the earth: “My father Lloyd Bridges worked on a TV show called ‘Sea Hunt.’ He impressed upon me as a child the importance of taking care of the ocean, and working together to do our part to reduce human pollution. Also, that we are all interconnected and responsible for the oceans around the world.”

Dianna Cohen, co-founder and CEO of PPC, will accept the award. “Thank you, Jeff, for your friendship, leadership, and support,” she said. “Solving the global health problem of the toxic impact of plastic pollution will take all of us changing our behavior. Recycling isn’t enough. Source reduction is key. Join the movement to refuse disposable plastics today.”

Take the pledge to refuse single-use plastic.
