Plastic Pollution Coalition has teamed up with video technology platform DUZY to re-release ‘Open Your Eyes,’ a PSA on the problem of plastic pollution, narrated by actor and activist Jeff Bridges.

The video went live on Jeff Bridges’s birthday and was shared by more than 1,500 people, including “The Dude” himself.

Actor and activist Jeff Bridges will present Plastic Pollution Coalition with an environmental award at the star-studded Global Green Pre-Oscar Gala on Feb. 22 in Los Angeles, California. In addition to PPC, Global Green will honor David Archambault, II, chairman of Standing Rock Sioux Tribe; Ryan Brown, CEO of Earth Day Texas; and Douglas Stoup, a polar adventurer and educator and PPC notable member.

The theme of event is #StandForGreen and speakers will honor the leadership of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and environmental educators and activists who are working to protect water, earth, and air from the twin problems of climate change and pollution.

PPC, a growing global alliance of more than 500 member organizations, will be honored for raising awareness and working to stop plastic pollution in communities around the world. A longtime notable member of PPC, Jeff Bridges lent his voice and support to PPC’s viral video Open Your Eyes in 2016.

For the whole of his career, Bridges has been an advocate for the earth: “My father Lloyd Bridges worked on a TV show called ‘Sea Hunt.’ He impressed upon me as a child the importance of taking care of the ocean, and working together to do our part to reduce human pollution. Also, that we are all interconnected and responsible for the oceans around the world.”
